Molonglo Valley

Overview and Location

Located between Mount Stromlo and Black Mountain, Molonglo Valley represents one of the largest releases of land in Canberra.

Molonglo Valley is situated in inner Canberra, less than 10 kilometres from the City, 5 kilometres to Woden and 12 kilometres from Belconnen.

Representing a substantial investment in the future of the Capital, the development at Molonglo Valley will be staged over a number of years, and will eventually be home to approximately 13 new suburbs. The first two suburbs in Molonglo Valley will be Wright and Coombs.

Molonglo Valley will include some of the key elements of a vibrant and sustainable community. Schools, local shops, parks, green spaces and playgrounds are all planned to help connect the community to the location. The suburbs of Molonglo Valley will be linked through specially designed footpaths and trail networks.

Balancing outdoor recreation with easy access to all a modern city has to offer is a lifestyle dream. This is made possible through the unique combination of the distinctive terrain and convenient central location. Residents will have easy access to some of Canberra’s premier outdoor playgrounds, including the Molonglo River, the National Arboretum Canberra, the National Zoo and Aquarium and Stromlo Forest Park.

Best practice urban design will facilitate a range of housing options that will respond to both the location and the natural environment.
